I don’t have/just–started my own list, can you help me supplement
it?
Our prospecting tool within our comprehensive UI can help you enhance your list
building process through our select network of partners within the Dating and Education
space. This feature is only available to clients who are strongly in these segments.
The process entails us having your campaign audience appended with relevant source–based
data, delivered as one–time list segment rentals. Please ask our Sales team
about this.
Do people automatically unsubscribe from my mailing list?
There’s no automatic unsubscribe for your campaigns, but we do provide several ways
for your subscribers to remove themselves from your list(s). For each mailing campaign,
you are required to provide an unsub URL that either points to a SmartMail created/uploaded
page, or by an approved and integrated 3rd party unsub method (including your own).
A user must click the “unsub” link in your email and unsubscribe through the page.
As a secondary unsubscribe method, a user can reply back to the email they got and
put the words “unsubscribe” into the body.
What list loading methods do you have?
We have two self serve methods and one full-service method for loading lists into
the system. For small files, you can use the UI to upload your list and choose which
fields to include. For advanced users, we have an auto-ftp method which allows you
to set automatic feeds of new data to certain lists. Finally, for large data uploads,
or for complicated data, your account manager can manually have our DBA team load
your offline list either by mailing us a DVD, or any other custom storage.
Can I use my own Mailing Program’s Contact List?
Not directly, but we do have some plug-ins for common mailing software that you
use to seamlessly load those contacts into lists within the SmartMail system. Please
contact your account manager for details.
Can I get a custom designed template?
You can either create the template yourself, or let our talented staff of creative
professionals do it for you. We have a wide variety of templates that determine
the structure of your email, but you will be able to customize every template with
your logo, your pictures, your text (including font style, size and color), and
your links.
Can I use my own HTML?
Of course you can! Using our WSIWIG editor you can create the creative entirely
within our interface. Using our advanced tab, you can even edit the HTML itself
if you have the technical in-house or hire an outside 3rd party to help you. We
also have several APIs that you can automate and integrate SmartMail Manager via
RSS with your in-house content system.
Can I preview the content?
Yes, we have several ways you can do this. Using the preview button within the UI
will allow you to see a random selection of merged content and how it will look
within your browser. Using the advanced tab, you can also see how the content is
rendered within all of the common ISP mailing services such as Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail,
etc…
Can I see get a test mailing before I decide to send a full campaign?
Yes, you can test your campaigns as many times as you want before you commit to
sending the entire campaign. We also have custom seeds to the top 5 ISPs, that are
automatically included in your tests that you can use to login to view the end result
of your campaign.
When can I send my campaign?
That really depends on when you want it sent! We here have SmartMail guarantee that
your campaign will be sent within 1 hour of your scheduled data/time for every 1
Million addresses in your segment. So for a 5 Million target, you will have the
entire campaign out the door within 5 hours of your scheduled time.
What kind of assurances do I have that my campaign will get delivered to the
inbox?
SmartMail has a team of compliance and deliverability analysts that monitor and
ensure that deliverability is optimal for your campaign. Our compliance engineers
also monitor your content and preemptively notify you if deliverability will be
a problem given the scoring of your content, and any blacklisting of your domains
or links included in your creative. Our system includes all authentications such
as DKIM, Sender ID and DK for all campaigns sent out of our system. Our in-house
proprietary seed monitoring tool checks the deliverability of your tests which is
tabulated in your reports screen so that you know the success of your campaign before
you even commit to sending it.
Do you have Feedback Loops and Whitelisting?
Our in-house team deals with this upon setup, and yes, we do have feedback loops
and whitelists with most of the top-tiered ISPs out there. Our reporting tab shows
the feedback numbers and ratios of abuse so you can monitor the quality of your
mailings.
Is there any content scoring mechanism within the UI?
Yes there is. We use several spam scoring frameworks included in your account that
you can use before and after a campaign. We use multiple scoring techniques such
as CloudMark, SpamAssassin, Abacus, Brightmail and our in-house Spam tool called
OutSmarted Monitor. Our account managers will help you deal with any content scoring
issues you cannot resolve on your own.
What happens to my mail if there are Spam complaints?
That really depends on the ratio of complaints to the volume of mail and the engagement
of your audience to the content of your mailing. If the complaint rates are high
for long periods of time without any changes to your campaign, there could be some
delivery issues that will be need to be dealt with. This sort of thing will be sent
to you along with your weekly campaign report sent by your Account Manager.
What kind of reporting can I see?
You can see any response based reporting (opens, clicks, bounces, etc…) in a grid
as well as an inbox prediction percentage based on our secret seeding of your campaign.
These reports are available in the UI, as a downloadable CSV or can be pulled via
our API. There are custom reporting metrics that can be added, such as “revenue”,
that you can work with your account manager to setup.
Can I see you forwarded my emails?
Yes. This is included as a response based report.
Is there anything else unique in the reporting screen that you provide?
YOther than our tests and content scoring trend report, we also show you a geo-targeted
map of people who opened and clicked based on their IP via our Google Maps integration
within the UI.
